I first met Bill in the eighth grade when he was already an incredibly accomplished musician, playing Beatles covers with "The Steins" and sporting probably the first Beatle haircut in town. I was in awe of his singing, guitar and stage presence, even then. Bill's love of life, sense of humor and passion for music will be sorely missed. Bill, you were taken far too soon. I feel lucky to have had the chance to play with you at the reunion and will cherish those memories forever. I know you are jamming with the best of them up in heaven, Bill. God bless you.

Like many locals in our resort community, I knew Bill as "Wally Duke" and a deep, beautiful soul by any other name still rings pure and true. He was always one to share a kind word or make an insightful joke to encourage, no matter the situation, never at anyone's expense. His personality and wit were even more beautiful than his musicianship...and man, could he play.
