Nessie,

You are the definition of strength. Your fight was long and hard and you never stopped until God said "Well Done My Child. Now Come to Rest". You will be forever missed. RIP SIS.

Mrs. Freeman, children, sisters and family,

We want to express our sincere sympathy as you go through life's greatest sorrow. Vanest was strong, courageous, undaunted possessing an effervescent and endearing personality. She was committed and steadfast to projects. In Reflection, as undergraduates at Wilmington University we were Student Government Officers she was the spirit in energizing it. She was effective in problem resolution when we were lost in NY. After graduation she grew more fervent and passionate in making a difference in the community, living by the scriptures: Hebrews 13:16 “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,...” and Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
May your cherished memories be a source of peace and the strength and love of God that surrounds you be comforting. Her effectual legacy of wisdom was exhibited through her grace.
God bless,
Paula Watson and family

To The Freeman Family,

Vanest leaves a strong legacy. In the 80s, she was known for her fabulous fashion designs. I also was the reporter that covered the acts of racism against her and her family in her New Castle neighborhood. Vanest was a brave, talented soul and she will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Dear Freeman-Smity Family;
I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your dear loved one. I would like to take a moment to offer you some comfort from the Bible. Jehovah God is the source of life, Psalms 36:9, Acts 17:24, 25. Jehovah actually hates death and he views it as an enemy, 1Corinthians 15:26. Jehovah is eager to conquer this enemy; to completely undo death by means of the resurrection and bring back all those who are in his memory to see them live on earth again forever, Job 14:14. I hope that these thoughts and scriptures will bring you a measure of reassurance and comfort during this difficult time. Also, see JW.org for additional information.
Sincerely, Hope W.
