Vanest Darcel Freeman, age 55, departed this life May 31, 2016, in Newark, Delaware.
Mother of Dr. Varleisha Gibbs (Tennessee George Gibbs II), Vacinqua Womack (Alisa Rogers), Josiah Smith, Wayman Smith, and Nathaniel Smith.
Daughter of Thelma Freeman and the late Allen Theodore Freeman; sister of Crystal Cannon and Kastine Saunders.
Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Janiah Morton, Dakota Gibbs, Zoe Womack, and Tennessee "Georgie" Gibbs, III; 4 nieces, including a devoted niece, Keonna Freeman; 2 nephews, a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A special friend, Dennis Jackson; special cousins, Berlin Levan; best friend, Cynthia Johnson and Larry Osborne.
Vanest was received her B.S. from Wilmington University and her M.S. from Springfield College. She was the founder of T.O.P.S. and also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Twin Oaks, PA and O.E.S.
Funeral 10am Friday, June 10th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, located at 101 Washington Avenue, Twin Oaks, PA 19014; viewing 8-9:45am only. Burial, Gracelawn Memorial Park.
