My condolences to the entire Nolan family - your mom was "one of a kind". Truly will be missed - Avalon Lane will never be the same.

I will miss my Aunt Joan tremendously but know that she is at peace. She is in heaven with my dad who is her brother and their sister, Jean. I'm sure they are having a great time! I'm not afraid of the after world because I know that my Godmother will be waiting for me. In the meantime, there's another Angel in Heaven protecting us!

While reading the obituary, I was struck by the line, "Mrs. Nolan had a sharp wit and an ability to make people laugh." Joan was my Aunt and my GodMother. To say she had a sharp wit is the understatement of the year! She was the funniest, most loving person I knew. She could make the most mundane become interesting by adding her commentary. She cared deeply about all of us, and her presence brought a smile to everyone. We will miss her dearly and the mention of her name will always bring a smile to our faces.

I don't know where to begin, I have so many fond memories of time spent in the Nolan home, where there was always an abundance of laughter, love, and good food! One of my favorite memories of Joan is of her admonishing Cindy, Sue and I, as we headed out the door, "Remember, girls, your body is your tabernacle!" Wise words, I've instilled in my own daughter's ears!
Rest in peace, Joan, you will be truly missed.

I wanted to let you know I am very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Nolan was a cool lady. I enjoyed her company at your family functions, and I will miss her. I will include her in my prayers.
