I worked with Vern for a short time at Wheeling Jesuit University, he was always a nice guy, I always enjoyed talking to him, he was an all around great guy and I am glad I had the chance to know him!

How sad I was when I got the news of Vern's death.......he was a delightful human being and probably the nicest guy in our class. I am so glad we got to enjoy his and his wife's company at a couple of the class get-togethers. He raised a remarkable family and I will never forget his fun-loving spirit and his will to live within God's plans. You will be remembered Vern, by those who loved, admired and respected you beyond measure.
