I still find myself using Mrs. Lunt, even though Jane has been preferred for some time. She would always welcome me with the most sincere, heart felt, warm greeting, and her corresponding smile. Her son Mark and I were best friends in high school, and only lived 4 houses a part back then.
She always was quick to invite me to a meal, and making me feel right at home – dinner when I was interviewing in Cincinnati is a special memory for me. In words and actions she always treated me as extended family. I also recall being on the receiving end of a stern disapproving look and reprimand on those few occasions when Mark and I did something when we knew better. While I always looked up to and respected her in my youth, it wasn't until I was a bit older could I begin to better appreciate what a wonderful, thoughtful, and caring individual she was. Though I will not be at the service, I will be there in spirit, and am grateful and thankful for how she touched and had an impact on my life.
