CHILLICOTHE - Rena May McCaskey, 62, of Chillicothe, died at 2:42 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born November 10, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri, to James Leonard and Ina May Witham Mayer. She married Roy O. McCaskey on September 17, 1965, in Lebanon, Missouri. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, James McCaskey of Chillicothe, Anna (Scott) Butzin of Metamora, Esther (Michael) Wilcken of Somerset, Washington: her mother, Ina Mayer of Springfield, Missouri; her brothers, J. L. (Sue) Mayer of Springfield, Missouri, Jack (Vicki) Mayer of Tarkio, Missouri, Ed ( Lora) Mayer of Louisburg, Missouri as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
She was a home maker and a member of Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, where she cared for the church's gardens. She also taught Sunday School in several area churches.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Northwoods Community Church or the donor's choice.
