Funeral services for Bonnie Kennedy, 83 of Summit Ridge, Colorado, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday September 22, 2018 at Lifeway Baptist Church in Cortez, Colorado. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery in Dolores, Colorado.

Bonnie was born February 16, 1935 to Bertha Bell and Homer Lee Gardner in Swenson, Texas, and passed away at daughter Denise's home in Yuma, Arizona early on September 11, 2018.

She was married to Jimmy Kennedy March 20, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico. Bonnie and Jimmy were married 55 years until his death in July 2009. Together they had 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. During her life she enjoyed her years of being a minister’s wife, her family, painting and her love of nature. Her accomplishments include; raising her children, serving in the ministry with her husband, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1974 from California State University and being a loving elementary teacher for 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Bertha and Homer Gardner, all of her sisters, and brothers and also husband Jimmy O'Brien Kennedy and son Jimmy Laird Kennedy. She is survived by her daughters; Debra Jean Parker (Michael) of Summit Lake, Colorado, and Denise June Dorsey (Keith) of Yuma, Arizona ; 11 grandchildren, Jenna Harmon (Randy), Brandon Parker (Brandy), Briana Naegeli (Brooks), Zoe Parker, Matthew Bailey, Chad Bailey (Janae), Cori Schultz (Gary), Sebrina Kennedy, Marisa Ealum (Andy), Melody Kennedy and Michelle Roberts; 15 Great Grand Children, Aaron, Alyssa and Austin Bailey, Destinee and Hayden Bailey, Autumn Harmon, Sawyer and Estelle Naegeli, Brayden, Sarah and Kalyn Parker, Skyler, Dallas and Lilith Ealum, Addison Schultz.
