LAFAYETTE, IN - Jane Ann (Hilligoss) Patch, 69, passed away on Friday March 2, 2018 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East following an extended illness.
She was born on January 22, 1949 in Anderson to Orville and Ethel Mae (Washburn) Hilligoss and has lived in Lafayette for 45 years. Jane Ann was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1967. She received a Bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 1971 from where she also received her Master's degree. Jane Ann devoted her life to elementary education, teaching at Cunningham Elementary, Dayton Elementary and Wainwright Middle School for 35 years. She was a member of the Indiana State Teacher's Association. She loved music and was a skilled pianist. She enjoyed crafts by making them and attending craft shows. Englewood Beach, Florida was a special place for Jane Ann and she loved road trips as well. Teaching, tutoring, old movies and her 2 dogs were beloved parts of her life. Her claim to fame was she made "the best yeast rolls you have ever eaten."

Jane Ann was preceded in death by her mother in 2000, her father in 2015

Services honoring Jane Ann's life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. Linda and Steve Hilligoss will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 am on Friday prior to the services.
