ALEXANDRIA, IN- Merna R. (Johnson) Hood, 68, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from Community Northview Care Center in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on December 22, 1949 in Anderson to Chester and Dorothy (Weston) Johnson. She attended Alexandria schools and received her GED diploma. Merna spent more than 40 years serving her Lord in ministry as a devoted Pastor’s wife. She also was gifted in children’s ministry and cared for and had a Godly influence on dozens of children down through the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sisters- Ora Kay Johnson and Linda Johnson, Brother-David Johnson.
Services honoring Merna’s life and faith will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Pastor Gary Klinger officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 am on Saturday prior to the services.
