Angeline "Angie" Trojanowski, a "Kind Hearted Lady", age 89, of Lapeer, died Saturday, July 15, 2017. She was born November 21, 1927 in Hamtramck, Michigan, to Peter and Anna (Wasylyshyn) Kuz. The Kuz family, a close Urkranian family, moved to Lapeer in 1940 and established a farm on Merwin Road.

Angie married Michael Trojanowski on April 29, 1960, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer…one year later their only child, Kathy, was born. Mrs. Trojanowski retired in 1988, as head checker, of the Kroger Store in Lapeer… where she had worked for many many years. Angie was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church since 1940, a member of the Merwin Road Bunco Club, and enjoyed getting together with the Kroger Retiree Lunch Group for almost 30 years. She loved to shop, go to garage sales, to travel in her motor home, care for her many animals (especially her dear cats), watch Jeopardy, Master Piece Theatre and Wheel of Fortune and play cards. Double-deck "Cut Throat" Pinochle was her card game of choice. Mrs. Trojanowski was an avid reader… newspapers, many magazines (including every issue of Architectural Digest since 1983 and the Smithsonian) and mystery novels from Agatha Christie to Janet Evanovich. Everyone was welcome at "the Farm"….Kathy's friends, family and more family. Like her mother, Grandma Kuz, Angie was a wonderful cook and she shared her home and her hospitality with everyone. Angie's home was open to everyone…she truly was the "Kind Hearted Lady"!

Mrs. Trojanowski is survived by her cherished daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and John Jepsen of Lapeer; brother-in-law: Leon Trojanowski of Lapeer; many many nieces and nephews; and her special cat: Noir. Angie was preceded in death by her husband: Michael; parents: Peter and Anna Kuz; and brother and sister in-laws: Mary Przekop, Walter Trojanowski, Helen Pawlowski, John Trojanowski, Frank Trojanowski and Genevieve Seroka.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 6-8PM Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The Rosary will be prayed 7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Angie's funeral mass will be 11AM Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. The family will also receive friends Thursday from 10-11AM at the church, prior to the funeral mass. Father Doc Ortman will officiate the funeral mass, Mrs. Trojanowski will then be taken to Mt. Loretto Cemetery, by horse drawn hearse, for burial. Everyone is welcome at the funeral luncheon, which will be held at the family farm on Merwin Road, immediately following burial. Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Kelley School, 926 West Nepessing St., Lapeer, MI 48446. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com.
