Ronald F. Murray, Sr., age 83, owner of the former Ronny's Place on Elmwood Avenue in Cranston, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown. He was the husband of the late Eileen L. (Sawyer) Murray.

Born in Boston, MA, the son of the late William J. and Margaret L. (Murphy) Murray, he lived in Cranston for 54 years.

Mr. Murray was the owner and operator of Ronny's Place for 30 years, retiring in 2008. He was formerly employed in the construction industry for 30 years, and was a member of the Laborers Union, Local # 271.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Ronald F. Murray, Jr. of Cranston, William L. Murray of Warwick, Patricia L. Costa of Warwick, Robert D. Murray of Cranston, and Cathy A. Murray of Cranston; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Virginia (Murray) Porrazzo.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue at Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
