Robert James Gossage, 69, of Mio, died Sunday, July 9, 2017.

Robert was born in Chicago, IL to Calvin and Wanda "Fay" (Miller) Gossage. He graduated from Centerline High School, class of 1966. Bob enlisted in the US Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked for B&M Machine Repair. Bob was a true outdoorsman – he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to shoot pool. Above all, Bob was a family man – he loved and was extremely proud of his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Gladys Gossage; two sons: James (Kimberly) Gossage of Warren and Randy (Denise Gunn) Gossage of Harrison Twp.; three grandchildren: James, Stephanie and Ann; two great grandchildren: James and Daniel; siblings: Gary Gossage, Darlene (Chuck) Miller, Dale (Peggy) Gossage, Lynn Kitchenmaster, Lisa (John) Pietszyk, Bonnie Irwin and Calvin (Ellen) Gossage. Bob was also survived by his step-son, Larry Lormand of Kalamazoo. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gossage; infant grandchild and his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #1 in Oscoda Township, 240 Chrysler Road, Oscoda Township, Michigan 48750.

Visitation will be from 4-8PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Bob's funeral will be 1:00PM Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Muir Brothers. Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
