Ms. Mattie Prosser Ates was born May 10, 1921 in Bluff Springs, Texas to Heleon and Johnny Luster Prosser. She was the seventh of thirteen children.
Mattie will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Thomas Webster Ates, Jr.; three grandchildren, Michelle LaVerne Ates, Thomas Webster Ates, III, Mandy L. Carlos, and Grace Nicole Ates.; one
great grandchild, Christina Renee Ates-Gipson Jackson; two great great grandchildren Deshawn Anthony Jackson, Jr. and Alexa Renee Jackson; a brother, Rufus A. Prosser; a cherished nephew Homer Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Heleon Landren Prosser and Johnny Luster Prosser; siblings, Willie H. Prosser , Florence Prosser McBride, Frank Prosser, Johnny Luster Prosser, Chester Prosser, Wilma Prosser Edwards, Zelma Prosser Walker, Jennie Prosser Edwards,
Frances Prosser and Amanda Prosser.
