William Paul Binder
  
William Paul Binder, 88, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Middlesex Health Care Center. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late William and Lillian (Baumgart) Binder.

Bill lived in Durham for twenty-six years where he raised his family. As a young man, he enjoyed riding horses out of Harry McClay Ranch and riding in the local rodeo circuit. Annual family vacations in Maine were a highlight of his life. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a pressman for various printing companies for forty-nine years. Bill was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking and leather work.

Bill is survived by four daughters, Marla Hinz and her husband, Gordon of Portland, Paula Parker and her husband, John of Middletown, Erica Leonardi and her husband, Sebastian of Middletown and Vanessa Binder of Old Saybrook; four grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Stephanie Parker, Kelsey and her husband, Andrew McIsaac, Bridget Hinz and Jordan Leonardi; a great granddaughter, Charlotte and an expected great grandson; a brother, Robert Binder of Aliso Viejo, CA; his former wife, Judith Burns of Old Saybrook and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 12:00pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in East Haven where full military honors will be accorded.

Family and friends may call on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Doolittle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
