A Time To Be Born"
On December 30, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas a bouncing baby boy was born to John Carrington and Ethel Prince, and named him John "Al" Carrington.

"A Time To Plant"
At an early age Al accepted Christ and was baptized and he was a faithful member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Alice, Texas where he severed on the Usher Board. Later in life he moved to Austin, Texas and united with Cornerstone Baptist Church. On July 1, 2012, Al was ordained as a Deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church where he served faithfully.

Al attended school at Solomon Cole in Corpus Christi, Texas and was an outstanding football player.

Al met and married Gussie Griffin and to this union five (5) children were born:
John Carrington Jr.
Russell Carrington
Myra Carrington
Dwayne Carrington
Hazel Carrington

He also had a son William Ray Houston.

Al met and married Lonnie Ruth Mann and to this union six (6) children were born:

Terance Carrington
Chandra Carrington
Eva Carrington
Sara Carrington
Cedric L. Carrington
Shawn P. Carrington

On October 12, 1992, Al met and married Brenda Moore and he remained with her until his death. To this union her children were added to this union:
Felicia Causey
Donna Grant
Donald Moore Jr.

"A Time To Work & Play"
Al worked as a bartender and a cook. He worked for Cornerstone Hospital until his health started to decline. Al loved fishing, cooking, playing golf, taking summer vacations, and spending time with his family.

"A Time To Die"
On Friday morning, June 30, 2017, Al answered the Lord's call and accepted his answer. Free from all the pain. Al went home to be with both his parents, two (2) sons, John Carrington Jr. and Shawn P. Carrington; two (2) sisters, Izola Sampson and Ernestine Gibson; one (1) grandson, D'Angelo Carrington-Lewis who preceded him in death.

"A Time To Weep"
Al leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of twenty-five (25) years: Brenda Moore Carrington; Sons: Russell Carrington, Dwayne Carrington, William Ray Houston, Cedric Carrington, Terence Carrington, Donald Moore Jr. (Josie); Daughters: Myra Carrington, Hazel Carrington, Chandra Carrington-Lewis, Eva Brown (Richard), Sara Carrington; Felicia Causey (Frederick), Donna Grant (Charles); thirty-seven (37) grandchildren and great grandchildren, And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
