Mae Katherine Conely Hudson was born June 28, 1954 in Austin, Texas to the late Emuel Conely and Alice DeShay Conely, her parents who preceded her in death.

She was educated in Austin Public Schools and attended L.L. Campbell, Kealing Junior High, the old Anderson High (2 years). She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School.

She was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Hudson, Jr. in 1972. From this union they had two daughters, Michelle Hudson and Marilyn Hudson-Dunagan. Later years she united with Gene Mays and they were together for 37 years. From this union they had a son Gerald Mays. Everyone who knew and loved her, knew her by "Cat".

Cat was an employee of the City of Austin for many years. In which she retired in 2015.

She had a strong faith in her loving God. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church for a long period of time. She loved cooking for her family and especially at gatherings. Her cornbread dressing was requested by many. She was able to travel on family vacations, but Cabo San Lucas she enjoyed the most. She always made time for her family. She loved her kids with all of her heart, and would do anything she could to make them happy. She also had developed many close relationships with family and friends. Her very dear and close friends Linda Sanders and Dee remained her lifelong friends. She enjoyed life the way she knew how to and her laugh was so contagious.

Along with her spouse and children, Cat leaves to cherish her precious memories her brothers Patrick Conely, Emuel Conely, Jr. and Roderick Conely; her sister Betty Alexander; her grandsons Kahleel Mays, Lozell Dunagan, James Dunagan, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by close family and friends.
