Ruth Ann Robinson was born on April 11, 1942 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was born to the late Julia Eleanor Cox Jackson and Douglas Jackson. She was the youngest of 7 children. She attended Cranford Public Schools and graduated from Cranford High School in 1960. She has resided in Cranford all of her life.

Ruth was employed by the Cranford Public School system. She was a Nurse's Clerical Aide from 1980-2009 at Cranford High School. She was a favorite among the students at Cranford High School. So much so, many of them would call her "Mom". She truly enjoyed her tenure at the High School especially watching the students grow up and all of the friends she made there over the years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's AME Church in Cranford. She was an active participant in the church. She was a member of the choir as well as a member of the Missionary Society and a Trustee.

Ruth lived at the Edward Gill Apartments Senior Housing. She quickly embraced this place as her home and became an active resident in many activities. She was President of the Tenants Association as well as participating in their yearly variety shows. This was one of her favorite things to do there. She was very proud of the people she met there and many of them had become family to her.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Robert Clifford Robinson; two brothers, Douglas and William Mallory Jackson; and a sister Mary Elizabeth Davis.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughters, Laura Brunton (Robert), Renee Robinson, and Lisa Robinson; six grandchildren: Joseph, Genesis, Samantha, Jordin, Dakari and Royston; sister, Julia Sanchez; two brothers: Frederick Jackson (Joan) and Clifford Jackson (Doris); also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. She also leaves behind her closest friend, Doris Kelley, whom she considered her sister.
