Walter Brunson, Jr. "Rick" was born on October 6, 1964 in Patterson, New Jersey, son of Walter Brunson, Sr. and the late Georgia Ree Johnson Brunson. He graduated from Passaic Tech High School in Patterson in 1984 where he played baseball and basketball. "Rick," as he was affectionately called by his friends, lived in Roselle since 1997.
Rick was employed at various odd jobs in Roselle. He was employed as a Bus Aide at Vogel Bus Company in Roselle for nine years. He was a Warehouse Worker at David Apple Stationery Company in Patterson for 5 years.
He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Patterson under the leadership of Rev. Allen Scott. As a child, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
On Saturday, June 10, 2017, Walter Brunson, Jr. answered the Master's call at Father Hudson House in Elizabeth.
Rick was predeceased by his grandson, Rashun Brunson and brother, Mark Avery.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his daughter, Katrina Brunson of Patterson, NJ; father, Walter Brunson, Sr. of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Nathaniel Brunson of Patterson, NJ; six grandchildren: Nazere Trent, Tahjmirah Trent, Aiyannah Trent, Von'Tavious Trent, Keimaja State, and Kanai State; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-uncles and great-aunts; godson, Isaiah Hardwick; and a host of dear relatives and friends.
