Marjorie M. Lance-Burton (nee Piatt), 92 of Wadsworth, OH passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman following a 3 month period of declining health.
She was born May 2, 1925 in Rinard Mills, Ohio to Clyde and Faye (Lallathin) Piatt.
Her family moved to the Lodi area where she graduated from Lodi High School in 1943.
She had worked as the School Secretary for Cloverleaf Schools before retiring in 1985, and had resided in Lodi before moving to Wadsworth in 1992.
Marge was a member of the Lodi United Methodist Church, Lodi American Legion Auxiliary, and Lodi Rebekah Lodge. She also was an avid card player.
She is survived by her
Daughter, Linda Lance Conner
Son, Leonard "Bud" (wife Brenda) Lance
Step Daughter, Barbara Burton
Step Son, Richard Kenneth Burton Jr.
3 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren, and
3 Step Great Grandchildren
Nieces, Nephews and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Wilbur Lance, second husband Richard Burton, brother and sister-in-law Eugene and June Piatt, and granddaughter Noelle Schelkle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 27, at 11:00 AM at the Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi (330-948-1122).
Pastor Diane Bell will officiate.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Liberty One and Two, Barberton Hospital, Akron Summa Hospital, Apostolic Christian Home, EMS of Wadsworth, and Life Care Hospice.
