James Joseph O'Brien, Jr., 77, of Middletown, husband of Judith (Young) O'Brien, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Wadsworth Glen in Middletown. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late James J. and Raleigh (Lineberry) O'Brien and had lived in Middletown most of his life.
Jim was a correctional officer with the State of Connecticut for over 20 years, retiring in 1987 and he was an avid photographer.
Besides his wife of 58 years, he is survived by two daughters, Bethany Boothroyd and her husband, Gary of Lebanon; Laurie Bouchard and her husband, Richard of East Hampton; one brother, Robert R. O'Brien of Scarsdale, NY; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, James Barry O'Brien.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
