Dale Arthur Kruse, age 82 of Randolph, died Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Colonial Manor of Randolph. He was born February 4, 1935 at McLean, Nebraska the son of Louis and Hilda (Herman) Kruse. He graduated from McLean High School in 1952 and began working for Backhaus Sand and Gravel. Dale served in the United States Army from November 1957 serving in Germany until November 1959 when he was discharged until 1961 when he was recalled to active duty until October 1962 serving at Fort Lewis Washington.

He returned from military service and worked as truck driver for Backhaus Sand and Gravel for 25 years. On October 7, 1978 Dale married Betty Wortman at St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph. He drove truck for Central Transport in Norfolk for 4 years and 2 years with Marsh Farms near Hartington hauling grain. Dale continued driving for Heartland Concrete in Hartington for 3 years and returned to Marsh Farms until 2001 when he retired.

Dale is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph where he served on St. John's Church council for 2 terms.

Dale is survived by 2 siblings Ila and Duane Meacham of Spencer, WI; Larry and Eva Kruse of Sulfur Rock, AR; 2 sister-in-laws Marjorie Kruse of Randolph; Mildred Kruse of Norfolk; 1 brother-in-law LeRoy Dommer of Spencer, WI. 5 Step-Children Frank Wortman of Randolph; Margaret Lienemann of Dodge; Robert and Pam Wortman of Elkhorn; Raymond and Peggy Wortman of Springfield, OR; Mark Wortman of Norfolk.

Preceding Dale in death are his parents; wife Betty on October 30, 2010; 3 Brothers Marley, Wayne and Gene; 1 Sister Kathryn.

Date: Saturday May 20, 2017 – 10:30 A.M.
Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery – McLean, NE
Visitation: 3 - 8 P.M. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home – Randolph
