BARKHAMSTED –
CONKLIN – Laurence Everett Conklin, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2017 with his wife by his side. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Koscak) Conklin. He was born on December 3, 1941 in Hartford; the son of the late Frederick Conklin, Sr., and Dorothy Mildred (Rogers) Conklin.
He lived in Barkhamsted most of his life. He retired from SKF after 35 years of service. He spent his retirement gardening and enjoying the outdoors. He was a simple man that just loved being home and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Tim Conklin and wife Laurie and Steven Conklin, all of Barkhamsted; two grand daughters, Jessica and Kailee Conklin, both of Barkhamsted; two brothers, Ronald Conklin and husband Jim and William Conklin and wife Debbie, all of FL; two sisters, Ferne Bazzano of Winsted and Gloria Johnson of Shelton; sister-in-law, Betty Koscak of Barkhamsted; brother-in-law, Joe Koscak of OR; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He also leaves his beloved dog, Chazy. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Conklin, Jr., and a sister, Susan Richard.
Per his request, there will be no calling hours or burial. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the donor's choice.
