MAHONEY – Jonathan Nils Mahoney, 27, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home. Born March 23, 1990 in Bristol, CT; the son of John Mahoney of Winsted and Ingrid Pierce of Torrington.
Jon graduated from Northwestern Regional #7 High School and attended boot camp in the U.S. Army in Kentucky. He was a great athlete and enjoyed playing baseball, football, BMX and was a member of the Junior Fireman in Pine Meadow.
He loved the Patriots and went to a lot of games with his family. He also loved the outdoors and mudding with ATV's and his truck. His competitive nature always made him a winner in family paintball games especially against his Dad.
Jonathan had an infectious smile and personality. He had a heart full of love and soul of joy. He was loved and adored by all. Everyone that knew him was his friend or brother. He will be immensely missed by the many lives he touched. Jonathan's greatest accomplishment was his son, Jackson. Their love of the outdoors, skipping rocks, John Deere tractors and playing at the park brought them even closer together and his legacy will live on in Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his loving companion, Sabrina Puzinski of Winsted; a son, Jackson Mahoney; paternal grandparents, James Mahoney, Sr., and Norma Sawyer; maternal grandmother, Barbara Belmonte; two brothers, Nicholas and Ryan Mahoney; an uncle, James Mahoney, Jr.; an aunt, Charlene Mahoney; and two cousins, Samantha Mercier and Cody Mercier.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 12:30 – 2:30 PM with a prayer service at 2:30 PM.
