Carl Edward De Bose, Sr. "Eddie" was born on Thursday, July 4, 1940 in Harvey, West Virginia, son of the late Carl Ardene De Bose and Frances Shockley De Bose-Robinson affectedly known as "Penny". He attended the Dubois High School in Mt. Hope, West Virginia.
After moving to New Jersey at age of 16, Eddie became an honored Soldier of United States Army where he served proudly as a Paratrooper during the Vietnam War era from 1962-1964 with the101st ABN.
He was an Independent Long Distance Truck Driver until he and his wife, Lorraine started L&C Trucking Company in the late 1970's. Eddie loved working on cars and diesel trucks at Shim's Auto Shop before retiring in 1998. Eddie enjoyed life and relaxing.
Eddie was a man of few words who loved and cherished his family and dear friends as well as helping anyone that was in need of a helping hand - to know him was to love him. If you asked Eddie, "How's it going?" He would respond "too soon to tell." His most enjoyment was spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, Carl Edward De Bose, Sr. was suddenly called home to glory at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey at the age of 76.
Eddie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Albert Robinson; two brothers: Walter and Kenneth De Bose; and two sisters: Annette Lumpkins and Mary Henderson.
Eddie leaves to cherish his fond memories, his dear and loving wife, Lorraine Wakefield-De Bose; 12 children: Carl De Bose, Kawania Brinson (Eugene) of NJ, Carl De Bose, Jr. (Ila) of AR, Carletta Allen (Tommy) of NJ, Christopher De Bose of NJ, Shari Billups of NJ, Norman Wakefield (Robin) of AR, Robert Wakefield of NJ, Towanda Wakefield of TX, Janet Wakefield of NJ, Crystal Rufus of CA and Francine of NJ; loving sister, Gloria Johnson of NJ; loving brother, Wayne De Bose (Patti) of FL; 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 loving aunts: Mable Turner, Janette Jackson, Zona Shockley, and Ernestine Cummins; dear friend close like a brother, Joe Rickard (Pat) of NJ; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear relatives and friends.
