Annie Mae Scott was born on July 13, 1919 in Bishopville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Solomon and Eliza Jane McWarren. She was the eldest of six children and understood the importance of family and hard work at an early age.

On November 14, 1937, Annie Mae married William Scott and from this union, they were blessed with 15 children. The Scott family left Bishopville and moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey where Annie Mae was a pillar of her community for 56 years and remained there until her passing. She was a kind and gentle woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was employed as a Domestic Engineer.

Annie Mae was a member of Heard African Methodist Episcopal Church in Roselle since 1965 where she was a member of the South Carolina Club.

On Monday, April 10, 2017, at home she entered peacefully into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her family at the age of 97.

Annie Mae was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William Scott; four sons: Edward Scott, Gerald Scott, Tyrone Scott, and William Scott, Jr.; and four daughters: Tracy Scott, Eula Saunders, Ola Holloman, and Pearl Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her six daughters: Jacqueline Scott of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Janie Bullock (Ernest) of Roselle, New Jersey, Sara Oliver (Jerome) of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Evelyn Scott of Roselle, New Jersey, Diane Warren (Alex) of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Wilhelmina Woods of Providence, Rhode Island; one son, Johnny Scott of Linden, New Jersey; eighteen grandchildren: Anthony Walker, Eric Walker, Ricardo Walker, Jamil Scott, Roslyn Scott, Terina Scott, Arlena Holloman Vanhoy, Lamont Holloman, Kesha Holloman, Simone Johnson, Tanya Johnson, Kahdijah Johnson, Shania Ross, Eli Scott, Neradean Scott, Chakina Scott, Rasheed Scott, and Janelle Hollinshed, twenty five great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ernest Holloman; one goddaughter, Frances Thompson; and a host of dear relatives and many friends.
