Beloved Father, Brother, and Grandfather, 78

Mr. Louis J. Cicenia, 78, of Nutley, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Lucy's Church , Newark at 10:45 a.m. The entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum , East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Cicenia was born in Newark, NJ and was a longtime resident of Nutley. He began his jewelry career at a very young age, and in 1973 opened Charles Jewelers, Belleville. After retiring from his jewelry business, his entrepreneurial instincts drove him in the direction of the music industry and real estate endeavors.

He is survived by his beloved children Maria Cicenia and her fianc´ee Peter Leotsakas, Lisa Nasti and her husband Robert, and Annette Coyle and her husband James; his loving brothers William Cicenia and his wife Joan, Joseph Cicenia and his wife Elizabeth, and Michael Cicenia and his wife Patricia; his loving sister-in-law Loretta DiRiggi and her husband Robert; his loving brother-in-law Nick Malanga and Judy Lombardo; and also his cherished grandchildren Lauren and Alyssa Cataldo, Cristina, Daniel, and Natalie Nasti, Sabrina and Samantha Shorter, and Ryan and Wyatt Coyle. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Louis is predeceased by his wife Barbara (nee Malanga) Cicenia, his parents Joseph and Carmella "Millie" (nee Nanna) Cicenia, and his sister-in-law Angela "Angel" Manno and her husband Vincent.

Louis was a kind and generous man. He touched so many people. In his memory, the family asks that you "pay it forward" by performing a random act of kindness for someone in need.
