Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, 69

Mrs. Carolina S. (nee Sunga) Roc, 69, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Hospital, NY. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, February 17 at 8:00 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church , Bloomfield at 9:00 a.m. The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum , North Arlington. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 16 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Roc was born in Manila, Philippines and emigrated to Bloomfield, NJ in 1984. She earned her Undergraduate Degree, as well as her first Masters Degree, in Religious Studies while in the Philippines. Mrs. Roc taught in the Philippines for 16 years before emigrating to the United States. She then earned a Masters Degree of Arts in Counseling from Montclair State University. Mrs. Roc was a Guidance Counselor at St. Dominic Academy, Jersey City for 30 years before retiring in 2013. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling around the world and living life to the fullest.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Eduardo Roc; her devoted children Anne Edelman and her husband Dan, and Marie Lange and her husband Mark; her precious grandchildren Benjamin, Evelyn, Allie and Carina; and also her loving siblings Norma Edralin, Rolando Sunga, Rodolfo Sunga, Christina Roque, Renato Sunga, Charito Stottlemyer and Raul Sunga.
