Marion L. "Meme" Hasebroock, age 84 of Wisner formerly of Pilger, died Thursday February 9, 2017 at Wisner Care Center in Wisner. "Meme" was born April 24, 1932 at Alexandria, Nebraska the daughter of Oliver and Hilda (Mulinix) Nicolay. She attended school in Alexandria; around the age of 12 Marion and her family moved to Wisner and later Pilger where she attended Pilger public school. Meme worked locally as a housekeeper and a babysitter in Norfolk and Stanton areas.
She was united in marriage to Arlin "Arlie" Richard Hasebroock on May 23, 1952 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger. For a short time she worked at Waldbaum's Egg Plant in Wakefield. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger. There she taught Sunday school for many years. She was baptized and confirmed there as an adult.
As a young couple Meme and Arlie loved to dance. They would travel to many surrounding towns where they would dance all night. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with flowers and spending time with her nieces and nephews and traveling to different towns. In later years, the couple would spend their winters in Yuma, Arizona where they also had a host of friends.
Meme entered the Wisner Care Center in April 2013.
She is survived by her sister Wilma and Jim Petersen of Pilger; 2 Sisters-In Law Reba Hasebroock of Norfolk; Charlotte Mulinix of Decatur, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Meme in death by her parents, Oliver and Hilda; her husband of 62 years, Arlin in September 2014; 1 brother Elvin Mulinix; 1 Sister Doris Koepke and Brother-In-Law Junior Koepke; 1 Brother-In-Law Gerald Hasebroock; 2 nephews Roger and Ricky Koepke.
