George W. Sutton died Sunday, January 8 at his home in Aberdeen. He was 75.
Born in Clarissa, MN he was the son of the late Michael C. Sutton and Anna E. (Lapitz) Gjerstad.
Having served his country during the Vietnam War, Mr. Sutton retired from the US Army after 21 years of service. He then went on to work for Harford Systems for over 25 years. A member of the Spesutia Island Boat Club, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Thea (Seifert) Sutton; son, Michael Sutton and wife Lisa of Elkton; daughter, Sylvia Hilker-Sutton of Abingdon; grandchildren, Chae and Chaeanna Sutton and his sister, Elaine Kingston and husband Jim Kingston.
A visitation will be held at the family's residence on Saturday, January 14 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. The family may be reached at 443-356-7354. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery July 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
