Oma Lee (Jones) Welch, 92, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on December 3, 2016 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1924 in Goldthwaite, Texas to Fred Jones and Hattie Hardman Jones. Oma began her nursing career at Dr. Scott's office in 1960 and helped deliver and care for hundreds of babies over the years, eventually retiring in 1994 from Dr. Culpeppers office. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles, reading and playing card games. This loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Oma is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Welch, her son, Vernon Welch, Jr.; and her siblings, RG Jones and Nina Chapman. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Craig (Linda Scruton); brother, Lyndon Jones; grandchildren, Curtis Craig, and Amber Dugosh (Craig Dugosh); great grandchildren, Payton and Raegan Dugosh and Connor, Colton and Camryn Craig; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
