Alma "Amy" Bess Suchan, age 95 of Ballwin, MO formerly of Stanton passed away Thursday December 1, 2016 at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. She was born November 20, 1921 to Rudolph and Bessie (Sladovnik) Suchan in Howells, Nebraska. She attended her early elementary school in Howells and the family moved to Stanton in 1928 where she continued her elementary education and graduated from Stanton High School in 1939.

After graduated she worked with her father in his grocery store then moved to St. Louis area in 1945 where she worked in several Federal agencies through Civil Service Corps; she began working with the United States Army Signal Corp. Transferring to the Army Ordinance Department and then moving to the Army Contract Administration Region where she worked as a Contract Auditor, she retired from that agency in 1980.

Alma traveled extensively and volunteered at Catholic Charities. She continued residing in St. Louis area until May 2012 when she transitioned to Omaha to reside in an adult retirement community. Alma was a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church at Ballwin, MO; Stanton American Legion Post #88 Auxiliary for 76 years; and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.

Survivors include her Sister-In-Law Marcella Suchan of Stanton; Niece, Susan and Einer Thomsen of Omaha, NE; her Nephew Michael and Jody Suchan of Kearney, NE; Niece-In-Law Lori Suchan of Omaha, NE; 2 Great Nieces Kara Thomsen of Omaha; Dana and Steven Osborn of Omaha; 2 Great Nephews Brian Suchan Clarkson, NE and Doug and Lauren Suchan of San Diego, CA

Preceding Alma in death are her parents, 1 brother Harold Suchan; 1 nephew Richard Suchan.

Visitation: 9:00 A.M. until service time with parish rosary at 9:30 A.M. all Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stanton under direction of Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in Stanton.
