Maree Evelyn Merta, 74, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Richmond. She was born October 27, 1942 in Victoria to Weldon Bailey Burnette and Helen Agnes Bundick Burnette. Maree was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a retired Elementary School teacher and was very proud to be a substitute teacher in later years.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Edwin Joseph Merta, 3 children, Brian Joseph Merta, Laurie Lynn Lutz and husband Lt. Col Ken Lutz, Gregory John Merta and wife Masami Ito, sister, Florence Katherine Vacker, 2 granddaughters, Aubrey Ann Lutz and Nyssa Merta. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father William D. Bartniski officiating.
