Maria Manuela Silva, fondly known as "Mary", passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 6, 2016 at the age of 74. She was born on January 4, 1942 in Mission, Texas to Abraham and Hilaria Mercado. Some of Mary's hobbies included gardening, dancing, traveling with her husband and family wherever the road took them. Mary's ultimate love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, where she took great pride in instilling faith, family values and traditions. This loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two young siblings, Micaela Mercado, Abelardo Mercado; and siblings, Blanca De La Garza, Ruben Mercado, Manuel Mercado and Leticia Amador.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 57 years, Cayetano B. Silva, Jr.; children, Maria Sylvia Silva, Cayetano Silva III (Carolyn), and Susana Silva (Lee Guebara); siblings, Jose Luis Mercado (Aurelia), Abraham Mercado, Jr. (Lupe), Maria Esther Sanchez (Felipe), Idolina Espinoza (Tony), Domingo Mercado (Hilda), and Benji Adams (Tom). Mary was the proud "Momo" to her grandchildren: Lionel Segundo III (Olivia), Danielle Silva (Kraig Rubalcaba), Jerylynn Marie Baldillez (Jerrick), D-Jay Sustaita, Cody Cayetano Silva (fiancée, Stephanie Wood), Casey Cayetano Silva, and Andrew Rene Silva (girlfriend, Sara Reinsch); great grandchildren, Skylar Jade Segundo, Luke Lionel Segundo, Kyla Alysse Rubalcaba, Kevin Allen Rubalcaba, Jason Alexander Valdez, Jordan Allen Baldillez; along with extended family and friends.


Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

The service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
