Deborah K. "Debbie" Benz of Austell, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, after an extended illness. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, William Dalton Manning. She is survived by her loving sisters and brothers-in-law: Mr. & Mrs. Levi (Donna) Hackney, Mr. & Mrs. Tony (Julia) Peace, and Mr. & Mrs. Phil (Stacy) Burger; and her brother, William Peacock. Other survivors include her nieces: Jennifer Hackney, Mr. & Mrs. Jordan (Lucy) Phillips, and Katy Burger; and nephews: Mr. & Mrs. Lee Hackney, Evan Hackney, and Mitch Burger; grandnieces and grandnephew: Roya Hackney, Brooklyn Hackney, Cash Hackney, Sophie Phillips, and Esther Jane Phillips. She is also survived by her best friends of many, many years Dottie Blackmon and Pat Jones. Debbie was an amazing sister and aunt who demonstrated an intense love of family. Expressing herself with great joy to all who knew her, she was a positive influence on everyone who crossed her path. Debbie's glass was never half full – it was overflowing. She was the embodiment of joy, love, generosity and tenacity all wound into one beautiful soul. The lessons she taught her siblings and her nieces and nephews are priceless gems that each of them will cherish always. She was an accomplished professional, having successful careers with IBM, Tascor, and, most recently, Morgan Stanley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 3:00p.m., at Austell Presbyterian Church, 5895 Love Street, Austell, Georgia. A visitation reception will be held immediately following in the Conyers Building Fellowship Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Debbie's memory to Austell Presbyterian Church, Pawsitive Supporters, or Cobb County Animal Control.
