Esther Gonzales Cavender, age 64, of Richmond, Texas passed away on November 4, 2016. She was born on October 12, 1952 in Sealy, Texas to Fidencio and Virginia (Manzo) Gonzales. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. Esther served as a Registrar/Secretary for George Junior High School for many years prior to her retirement. This loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend will be missed.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Rosa DeLeon, Lydia Macias, and Cruz G. Martinez.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 29 years, Joseph Earl Cavender; son, Jonathan Earl Cavender and wife, Desirae; brothers, Fidencio M. Gonzales and wife, Blasa, Henry M. Gonzales and wife, Cecilia, Richard M. Gonzales and wife, Alejandra, and Johnny M. Gonzales; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home.
The funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 S. 4th Street in Richmond, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
