Karen Myrtle White departed this life to unite with her heavenly father on October 27, 2016. Karen was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur White, Sr. and Myrtle Patton White on July 20, 1950.
Karen attended Chester Public Schools and graduated from Chester High School in 1968. She furthered her education at Cheyney State College, where she became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and minor in Math. Karen accepted the Lord at an early age as a member of St. Daniels United Methodist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. As an adult, she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She held both churches in high regard.
Karen was a teacher for many years in the Chester Upland School District. She was also a substitute teacher for Chichester, Penn-Delco, and Rose Tree Media School Districts. Karen's greatest joy was becoming mother to her daughter Danielle. She held her close to her heart and showered her with unconditional love. As a grandmother, her love was extended to her precious grandchildren, Chase and Morgan. Karen loved the Lord and spent much time in prayer and daily devotion. A true teacher and academic, she enjoyed working with math and reading literature. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching over her grandchildren. Karen had a kind, warm, and gentle spirit. She loved spending time with her family and was always willing to help others. She will be fondly remembered for her organized Hoagie Parties, generous Christmas cards, favorite color blue, and love for Michael Jackson.
Karen was predeceased by her parents Arthur White Sr. and Myrtle Patton White; her sisters Patricia White and Shirley Clark; and her brother Ralph White.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Danielle Winters (Wilson) of New Castle, Delaware; brother Arthur White Jr. (Joyce) of Chester, Pennsylvania; brother Irving White (Ruth) of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law Barbara White of Chester, Pennsylvania; grandson Chase; granddaughter Morgan; special niece Pamela Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and loving friends.
