Norris Herman Vogler
  
Norris Herman Vogler, 89, of Richmond, Texas went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2016. He was born in Welcome, Texas to Herman and Hedwig (Brauner) Vogler. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Once he returned home from active duty, Norris worked for the Texas State Highway Department.

He served many in our Fort Bend Community as a respected wrecker driver with Dub Miller Ford and Toman's Wrecker Service. Norris considered one of the most important days in his life to be April 20, 1957, the day he and Maxine adopted Terri Kay Vogler. This loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend will be missed.

Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Hedwig Vogler; his brothers, Herbert, Norbert, Gilbert, Robert and Curbie Vogler; sisters, Lillie Stehle, Paula Rosenbaum, Pearlie Giese and Annie Mae Vogler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Mabel Mills of Crockett, Texas; sister-in-law, Syble Grisham of Crockett, Texas; brother-in-law, James Ford Mills of Oregon.


Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Maxine (Mills) Vogler; daughter, Terri Kay Vogler; dog, JZ; horses, Tuffy, Ginger and Spirit; brother, Elgin Vogler and wife, Eleanor; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Vogler and Vivian Sabrsula; numerous nieces and nephews on the Vogler side; sister-in-law, Delpha Mills; Nephews, Steve Rick and Randy Mills of Oregon; niece, Cynthia Puckett and husband, Robert of Arkansas; brother-in-law, Ernie Mills and wife, Harriet of Sugar Land; special friends, Robert, Paula, Justin and Kristin Till; and Richard Cardwell; along with extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1208 5th Street in Rosenberg, Texas or to your local animal shelter.
