Lucy W. Scott, 98, of West Orange, N.J., formerly of Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016, at the White House Rehabiliation Center, Orange.
Born in Savannah, Ga., Lucy was a resident of West Orange for 10 years. She had previously resided in Orange for 30 years.
She was employed as a teacher with the Orange School District for five years before retiring.
Lucy was the beloved mother of Cheryl Sims and her husband, Robert; loving grandmother of Erica Sims-Shelton; devoted great-grandmother of Gabrielle Barr, Eric Shelton, and Justice Sims McCray, and cherished great-great-grandmother of Jaiya and Violet Barr. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
