Geraldine (Hackney) Giannini, 73, of New Britain, passed away Friday (July 15, 2016) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. A New Britain native and life long resident, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Roulard) Hackney. Geraldine worked at Magazine Distributors in Plainville until her retirement, and was a former volunteer at New Britain General Hospital. "Gerr-Bear" loved spending time with her family as well as doing her puzzles.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Kimberly Rodriguez and her husband Victor of Kissimmee, FL; Annmarie Griffith and her husband Richard of Bristol; Lisa Bialko and her husband Mark of Plainville; and Nicole Griffith and her husband Larry, also of Plainville; a son, Lee Chambers and his wife Cristina of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Gail Henri and her husband Joseph of New Britain; and Linda Pauloz and her husband Robert of Kensington; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her Siamese Cat, Jewel.
Funeral services are Wednesday 10 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Tuesday 5 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
