Honorable Clarence Stephen Bennett, age 79, departed this life on July 8, 2016; beloved husband of Patricia "Pat" Bennett for 49 years; father of Courtney and Christopher (Melissa); son of the late Grant M. Bennett, Grace A. & Eugene E. Carr; son-in-law of Lozelle Deluz, PhD. and the late Anthony DeLuz.

Retiring after 32 years of service as a Compliance Analyst for the Federal Office of Personnel & Budget, Washington, DC, he and the family relocated to Wilmington. Retirement was not long for him; he was appointed a Magistrate in the Justice of the Peace Courts, State of Delaware and remained as a judge until heath challenges caused him to retire in his second term. Clarence enjoyed being of service to all so in this retirement he became more active than ever in community, civic, and social organizations that had a meaningful purpose in agreement with his passion.

Clarence is also survived by grandchildren, a great grandchild, god children, legacies, and a host of other family and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Friday, July 15th at Ezion Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 800 N. Walnut Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801; viewing 9-10:30 am only. Burial in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

A family visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14th from 5-6:30 pm at Ezion Mt. Carmel UM Church., followed by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Service at 6:30 pm.
