Gloria Patricia Hendy, 62, of East Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
Born in Charlestown, Guyana, Gloria was a resident of East Orange for 24 years. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant with the former Elizabeth General Hospital, where she worked for several years.
Gloria was the beloved mother of Simone Lyken, Seanette Motayne-Cooper, Sherron Motayne-Anderson, and Samantha Hendy; loving step-mother of Mervyn, Michelle, Shaundell, and Paulette Hendy; dear sister of Jerjine Broomes, Waveney Stoby, Winston Simon, Edward Broomes, and David Benjamin. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
