Selwyn T. Joseph of La Romaine San Fernando Trinidad & Tobago and member of Trinidad & Tobago Police Service went to be with the Lord on Tuesday 07th June 2016. He was the husband of the late Luna Joseph nee Davis. Father of Brian Sobers, Carey and Abigail. Father-in-law to Jennifer Joseph. Grandfather of Deborah Sobers, and Mary Joseph. Brother of Mervin, Linda Lambert, the late Judith Austin, and the late Jean Joseph. Cousin of the Hernandez, Brown, Purcell, Isles, Hall, Williams, Griffith families and others. Nephew of Martin and the late Muriel Joseph. Uncle of Ann-Marie Austin-Stephens, Orson Austin, Althea Austin-Smith, Edward Austin, and Algernon Austin, Merin Joseph, and Melissa Lambert, and many others in the USA, Canada, and Trinidad & Tobago. Adopted Father of Eve Calhoun. Godfather of Jill Marie St. John, and Alicia Davis. Adopted brother of the Paryag, Praddy, Dyette families, Cecil Alleyne and many others in the USA and Canada.

Selwyn migrated to Toronto, Canada, and attended the Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology, where he received a Diploma in Electronics Technology. He later moved to New Jersey, and completed his Bachelor's Degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was also a New Jersey State Licensed Electrical Contractor.

Upon graduation, he joined AT&T Bell Laboratories where he designed Power Systems before accepting a position as Human Resources Manager in the University Relations Center in New Jersey. As part of his many responsibilities, he managed AT&T's Ph.D. Scholarship and Summer Research Programs.

He found time between education, work and family to serve his community. He is a founding member of the Trinidad and Tobago Ex-Police Association of Toronto, Canada, and Past President, Trustee and Treasurer of the Trinidad and Tobago Ex-Police Association (New York Chapter) Inc. He served the Trinidad and Tobago Alliance (N.A.) Inc. as President, General Secretary, Trustee and Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, and the Islanders Cultural Organization of New Jersey as Vice President. He was a founding member of the Perspectives Investment Club, and served as Senior Warden of St. Agnes & St. Paul's Episcopal Church in East Orange, New Jersey.
