Mr. Steven Leon Clark, the son of the late Robert E. Clark and Ruby N. Clark, was born July 10, 1943, in Concord, North Carolina. He had one brother, Robert E. Clark (who preceded him in death). On Monday June 1, 2016, Steven departed this life.

He was educated in the Cabarrus County School system, where he graduated in 1961 from Logan Senior High. He was an excellent football and basketball player at Logan. He attended Saint Augustine College in Raleigh, NC, and majored in Business Management. He also attended Immaculate College and received a certification in Dietary Management. Soon after graduation, he departed for Washington, DC, and married Julia A. Cagler and to this union four sons were born, Dereck L. Clark, (who preceded him in death), Steven A. Clark of Jacksonville, FL, Jeffrey R. Clark, Sr.(Pamela) of Camp Springs, MD, Brian D. Clark of Washington, DC, and one stepdaughter Karen D. Cagler of Harrisburg, NC.

Steven held numerous leadership and management positions for over fifty years. He worked with Tilton Terrance Nursing Home for numerous years and also with the U.S. Census Bureau as an Assistant Manager of Field Operations. He was the Vice President of the Somerset Square Maintenance Cooperation. Lastly, Steven retired from Sodexo as the Food Service Director at Delaware Psychiatric Facilities.

Steven was a loving, caring and a compassionate man, always the to go to guy in the family. He always had the best solutions for any situations that the family may have had. He was a highly intelligent man and a math whiz.

He loved his children unconditionally and was the greatest dad, granddad, partner, and friend that anyone could ever ask for. He will surely be missed, but his legacy will be everlasting.

Though he is gone in presence, his sons, 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends shall forever cherish his legacy. He was blessed to have met a very special lady thirty-five years ago, Ms. Joanne Leatherbury, who was his solid rock. Her extended family was special to him as well, and he was grateful to have met a wonderful family who continuously loved and cared for him.
