Mr. Frank Henry Yarbrough was born November 25, 1930 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Elzie Yarbrough and Thelma Bauknite Yarbrough.
Frank untied in holy matrimony to his lovely wife Ninetia in 1951.
He was in the U. S. Army where he served in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. After 24 years, he retired as a 1st Sgt/E-8 in Fort Hood, Texas.
He furthered his education, graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors degree in General Business and Management.
He was the Park Superintendent at McKinney Falls State Park in Austin for Texas Parks and Wildlife. One of his greatest accomplishments consisted of him being the first African American to hold that position in the history of the State of Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age and re-dedicated his life in 1984. He became an ordained Deacon at Neighborhood Baptist Church where he also served as the Sunday School Teacher and held other offices in church until his health failed.
On March 31, 2016, Frank departed this life here on earth. His wife, Ninetia; his daughter, Helen Holmes and his granddaughter, Trazell Yarbrough preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, four sisters, Archibald Thomas of Austin, Texas, Betty , Judy Baddy, Joann Hunt, all of Oklahoma; three brothers, John (Mary Ann) Yarbrough, Albert (Betty) Yarbrough both of Oklahoma and Richard of Dallas, Texaas; four sons, Rev. Lee Yarbrough, LaFrance (Mittie) Yarbrough, LaRance Yarbrough and Rev. LaVon Yarbrough, all of Austin, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
