Carole R Copeland 80 of Walnut Creek died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster. She was born December 15, 1935 in Holmes County to the late Wayne J. and Sarah Ila (Kendel) Hochstetler. She was manager at Akron Teachers Credit Union for 30 years until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Walnut Creek. She was married March 28, 1954 to William E. Copeland and he died on December 22, 2004. She is survived by her daughter Susan Owen of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 2 grandchildren Benjamin Owen of Lansing, Michigan and Christen Owen of Santa Monica, California; siblings Richard (Jean) Hostetler of Walnut Creek, Kay (Willard) Hostetler of Orrville, John (Lynda) Hochstetler and Randy (Michelle) Hochstetler both of Walnut Creek. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. John's United Church of Christ at Walnut Creek with Rev. Mark Behrendt officiating. Burial is in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday 4-6 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
