Evelyn M. Snyder 87 of Zanesville and formerly of Baltic died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 23, 1928 in Zanesville to the late Wilhelm and Maria (Schneider) Niethammer. She graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville in 1945 and from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She retired in 1990 from Coshocton Memorial Hospital as an RN, Pharmacy Technician and held various nursing positions over 50 years. She was a member of Bethesda Alumnae Association, Zanesville High School Alumnae, St. John Lutheran Church at Baltic, the Lutheran Church Women and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an EMT for Swiss Valley Ambulance District in Baltic for 6 years. She was married January 30, 1949 to Charles W. Snyder Jr. and he died May 3, 2006. She is survived by her son Charles W. ( Edelina) Snyder III of Baltic and Zanesville, her daughter Edith Marie (W. Allen) Jordan of Columbia, S. Carolina, 3 grandchildren Charles W. (Jackie) Snyder IV of Baltic, Andrew F. Jordan of Columbia, S. Carolina and Christina Snyder of Nashville, Tennessee, 2 great grandchildren Ashlyn Thorne and Charles W. Snyder V both of Baltic, brother George L. Niethammer of Chandlersville, OH, niece Linda Niethammer of NY, and 2 great nephews Randall and Russell Niethammer of NY. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by brother-in-law Tom Snyder and nephew Fred. Services will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Baltic with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic. Friends may call Sunday from 12:00 PM (Noon) to 2 PM at the Church prior to services. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
