Virginia Lenora Jackson Schley was born August 24, 1934, in Adel, Georgia. Virginia was the oldest of the late King David Jackson and Rachel Jackson Hill. After her exhausting battle with Alzheimer's. She went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2015, at the Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Galloway, New Jersey.

For almost 60 years Virginia was a faithful and dedicated member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Virginia married Cornelius E. Schley on June 8, 1958. Reverend Russel Roberts performed the ceremony, the children born of this union were Michelle Evette and Mark Edward. Virginia held the positions of Financial Secretary of Samaritan Nurses Unit of Shiloh Baptist Church, President of the Shiloh's Booster's Club, Vice-President and then President of the Samaritan Nurses Unit. Later she became the President of the Deaconess Board.

Nursing was her calling and she proudly worked for over fifty years as an LPN. Virginia was appointed to the New Jersey Board of Nursing in 1980 by Governor Brendon Bryne. Virginia was the President of L.P.N.A. of New Jersey. She was reappointed to the Board of Nursing of N.J. Division 6 by Governor Thomas Keane in 1985-1990. Virginia was employed as a Private Duty Nurse by the Nurses Professional Registry. After which she was employed by the Westside Convalescent Center as a staffing Nurse for ten years before returning to the Nurses Professional Registry. Virginia accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 22, and was baptized by Reverend Roberts at Shiloh. She felt she loved her nursing profession so much because she was able to help people and share God's love.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband and love of her life for fifty-two years, Cornelius E. Schley; two brothers, Huley Baron and Gary Hill; and her beloved uncle, Joe Roberts.

She leaves to follow her legacy: two children, Michelle Evette Walker (Jerome) and Mark Edward Schley (Laurie); three sisters, Joyce, Delores, and Darlene Hill; four grandchildren, Kristin Danielle Terrell (Eric), Jerome Roy and Jerrell Kenneth Walker, and Devon Michael Schley; three great-grandchildren, Eric Brando, Jr., Kayden Michael, and Jackson Alexander Eure; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
