Jennie Yvonne Austin, "Aunt Jennie," was born January 30, 1925, to the late Osborn & Etta Henderson. On October 23, 2015, Jennie was peacefully called to rest at home with her family around her in Mays Landing.

Jennie was raised in Galloway Township on the corner of Duerer Street and Breman Avenue, with her five brother and six sisters.

As her life progressed, she married John Joseph Austin Sr. in 1944 and they started their family in Mays Landing. From this union they had two sons, John Joseph Jr., Charles William and two daughters Mary Etta Murray and Darlene Yvonne Chambliss.

Jennie was a best friend to her husband and a housewife. As her children became older, she entered the workforce as a seafood prep cook at the Smithville Inn for a few years. Then she started working at the Atlantic City Race Track and St. Paul CME as a custodial engineer. "Aunt Jennie" was also a surrogate parent to many of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

A dedicated member of St. Paul C.M.E Church -- she was a Missionary, Director of Matti E Coleman circle and she served actively on the Stewardess Board. Jennie loved all aspect of the church fellowship an especially sharing the word of God with her family and friends.
