Robert "Grampa" Gorski of Torrington CT, born July 16, 1953 in Frankfurt, Germany, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on October 12, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Robert was a navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Waterbury Republican newspaper for over 25 years until his passing.
Robert lived a peaceful life with his wife and dogs Cindy and Klipsey. He was an avid collector of swords, wizards and owls.
Robert is succeeded by his wife, Kim (Swanson) Gorski; a daughter, Cara (Gorski) Manegal of Torrington; two step sons, Jamie Shaw and Josh Kline, both of Torrington; two grandchildren, Jada and Neela Manegal of Torrington; a sister, Lydia Consolini and husband John of Washington state; two brothers, Klaus Gorski and wife Carol of New Hartford; Tommy Gorski and wife Nancy of Winsted; and several nieces, Tina Eden and Tania Consolini of Washington state and Tracy Gorski of Winsted. He is preceded by his parents, Tomaz and Julia Gorski.
